About FloMoTX.com

Thanks for stopping by FloMoTX.com — or more accurately, FloMoTX.com 2.0. Some of you may have seen the first iteration of the site more than a year ago. It originally was built as a beta test  for a group of community sites that I built for a television station in Little Rock.

That project resulted in a revised concept for this site, which we call a “social directory.” Our mission is to connect the residents of Flower Mound with local businesses and organizations. We strongly believe that in today’s economy, it is more important than ever to patronize local businesses  as a way to support our neighbors who work in these businesses and because buying locally whenever you can is better for the environment and for our quality of life in general.

We hope you’ll get to know more of the names and faces behind Flower Mound’s many excellent businesses through their profiles and shared activity on  FloMoTX.com. The site is in “beta” — which means it is still under development and we are at the point where we need your feedback to help shape its future direction and new features. Here are a few tools that you’ll find here:

  • A calendar and  event list that break out official events from the Town, church events, key LISD dates, fundraisers and entertainment and shopping events.
  • Business listings for general shopping, medical and doctors and restaurants. You can search for business near your home (or another address) and locate the business and related info on the Flower Mound map. We’ll be adding new categories, but if we’re missing your favorite business just use the red Feedback button on the right side of the screen to let us know.
  • Profiles of businesses with helpful related information, web links, videos and more.
  • News summaries and links for area news sources and organizations so you won’t miss anything that’s happening in Flower Mound.

And there’s more to come. Let us know what you’d like to see or flag us to any issues by hitting that red Feedback button. And we’ll see you around town soon.
