From WFAA: A woman was killed and seven other people were injured late Saturday afternoon when two vehicles collided on a rainy highway in Denton County. Multiple agencies responded to the accident in the 4000 block of U.S. Highway 377 near Cross Timbers Road shortly after 5 o’clock. Read more@


 

 
From The Lewisville Leader: The Flower Mound and Lewisville Police Departments are hoping to clear the nearly 14,000 outstanding warrants during the next week. The Great Texas Warrant Roundup begins Saturday and runs through March 4. “Our marshals have contact with other agencies,” said Lori Gosser, court administrator. “So they’re able to share a lot of information.” Gosser said there are 3,900 outstanding warrants in Flower Mound’s system. From thebattaliononline: Eizabeth Mize, freshman health major at Texas A&M, attended high school with Denton Ward in Flower Mound. She said Ward’s death in a traffic accident early Saturday was a wake up call. Growing up in the small town on the outskirts of Fort Worth, Mize said many of the local families cherish their tight-knit community and were affected by news of Ward’s death. “We always joke that Flower Mound is such a bubble to the real world, but we were definitely all exposed to the real world on Saturday as news of Denton’s death spread,” Mize said. “This is something that I am sure will open the eyes to our high schoolers, definitely reminding them how quickly our lives can end.” Read more@

From KWTX.com: A bizarre car theft early Wednesday morning at a local convenience store led to a high-speed chase on Interstate 35 south of Waco and a manhunt that stretched on for several hours. Brady Douglas Felio, 18, of Flower Mound, was charged with evading arrest Wednesday afternoon, but may also face auto theft charges in Bell County, authorities said.

From Flower Mound Police Department: At approximately 7:54 P.M. on Jan. 14, Flower Mound officers were made aware of an Aggravated Robbery that had just occurred in Lewisville. The Lewisville Police Department provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle involved in the robbery. At approximately 8:03 P.M., a Flower Mound Police Officer located a vehicle matching the description of the one used in the Lewisville Robbery parked behind the S & S Convenience Store at 516 Flower Mound Road. From Town of Flower Mound: The Federal Bureau of Investigation recently published the annual “Crime in the United States” report, which identified numerous favorable crime statistics for Flower Mound when compared to cities of similar population within the State of Texas and the nation. Most notably, the Town ranked state-wide as having the fewest violent crimes, property crimes, and total reported crimes within the Town’s population category, based upon the overall number of reported crimes per resident. When compared nationwide, Flower Mound was recognized as having the fifth-lowest rate of property crimes, and the sixth-lowest rate of violent crimes and total reported crimes within the appropriate population category, based upon the overall number of reported crimes per resident. Based on the FBI report data, Flower Mound has the lowest ranking in the State of Texas categories of Crime Rate per Population, Total Reported Crime, Violent Crime, and Property Crime. From Star-telegram.com: A former Keller woman accused of killing her husband bonded out of a jail this morning, a week after she was arrested on a charge of murder. Michele Williams, 42, of Flower Mound posted bail on the $85,000 amount which had been reduced on Friday. She initially had her bail set at $522,000. Read more@
