E-cycling: Lining up to give it away

Saturday’s e-cycling event at Bakersfield Park must have been a success — based on the line to get in. Hundreds of Flower mound residents waited as much as an hour and a half to snake into the park and rid themselves of old electronics, sensitive documents and assorted hazardous waste. We’ll let you know when future events are scheduled.

E-cycle your old electronics at Bakersfied Park today

cell-phones2Are you wondering what to do with your old computer, printer, television or cell phone? Consider e-cycling. Only 15 to 20 percent of electronic goods are recycled, according to the Enviornmental Protection Agency. The Town of Flower Mound will host an Electronic Waste and Document Shredding Event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan Lane. Electronic waste includes items such as keyboards, CPUs, radios, microwaves, disks, and cell phones. View the flyer above for a complete list of acceptable items. This is a free event with the exception of a $10 fee for TVs and $20 charge for large appliances. Residents are limited to three boxes of documents, and no three-ring binders will be recycled.
